Today Nvidia has introduced a fresh mid-range GPU based on their latest Maxwell architecture – the GeForce GTX 960. Specifications wise the fresh GTX 960 is kleintje of half the parameters of the GTX 980 at about half the price, but it is actually more interesting spil an alternative to GTX 750 Ti te our opinion. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 GPUs should provide toughly 1.5x to 2x the spectacle of a GTX 750 Ti being slightly more expensive and with 120W TDP according to the official specifications. Wij have managed to get our palms on one GeForce GTX 960 from Palit, their reference-like vormgeving tho’ it is still slightly overclocked version, but the lowest and cheapest version that they presently opoffering and have determined to compare it to the spectacle of a reference GTX 750 Ti card with no factory overclocking to see the difference ter vertoning.
Wij have used the latest ccMiner 1.Five.31-git Fork by SP for Maxwell to test on both GPUs and you can see the results te the table above. Spil expected the spectacle result from the GTX 960 wij are eyeing are te the range 1.5x-2x the ones that GTX 750 Ti provides. With a more serious factory overclocked GTX 960 results more to the 2x can be observed spil compared to a reference non overclocked GTX 750 Ti GPU. There were however a few weird things that wij have noticed and also the reason why there are no results from all of the supported algorithms listed te the table. Lyra2 for example performs worse on GTX 960 than on GTX 750 Ti, it most likely needs some optimizations to demonstrate the maximum potential that the GTX 960 can opoffering. NIST5 seems to be violated te the latest ccMiner fork spil it did not decently work on any of the Maxwell cards, the Blake, Blakecoin and Penta algorithms provided too weird results and very significant difference inbetween the two cards. So wij have determined not to include them until further investigation on why the results are so strange and different for the two GPUs. Anyway, it seems that the GTX 960 could be an alternative solution for GPU mining instead of the GTX 750 Ti for mining equipments that use numerous movie cards. That is if you consider investing te GPU mining equipments for mining crypto coins with the idea not to mine for profit at the ogenblik, but to keep the mined coins expecting better times to trade them spil presently GPU mining is not very profitable with the low exchange rates at the uur.

Its very likely just the default force for Lyra is set wrong for the 960. You should be able to switch those via -i (-i is not a vanaf card setting however, at least presently, so if you have a 750 and a 960 te the same opbergruimte you need to run separate ccminer instances with different -d and -i values).
Yeah, working on fresh maths and macro economic specimen, to increase the price of Darkcoin above 0.10btc (21 million max crypto currency) and make GPU mining profitable te 2015. Not finished yet, will postbode when BitcoinTalk when done ,)
On more relevant note to this article: Two 750TI’s would cost 200 ( 100 each) .
The Nvidia GTX 960 costs 250. Two 750TI’s will outperform this card te netwerk hashpower te every category .
It would be mad economics to buy a Nvidia GTX 960 for mining crypto-currencies, the 750TI’s are still the best card for mining when hashpower indexed to initial purchase price.
Not that Nvidia indeed cares, the volume and profit ratio on 750TI’s is going to outstrip sales of the GTX 960, which is why they couldn’t be bothered to release this GPU for overheen 6 months 😀
Way off the mark there, a single 960 OC will cost around 170
